after graduation

Family and friends doted her with gifts afterward. What a blessing to have so many people love you. We finally caught up with Kalisi afterward. She's amazing. Then we went to Coney's for some frozen custard. I am a horrible mother though. Levi went back on the bus with the Orchestra and missed the party. And got picked up late after everyone had left. He wasn't happy. Can't blame him. Jillian and Mireya went to the all night party after that. I got to work at it for awhile. So many parents put so much time into a great activity. Tons of food and things to do. The girls came home and crashed. It's great to have occassions like these so family and friends can spend time together. Go Red Devils!

Class of 2006

Here are some great shots from graduation. It was a little chaotic with so many people there, but we managed to get some photos in. Levi and Jillian both played in the Orchestra, so Jill didn't sit with her class. But she did get to sit with so many friends that she made in playing the oboe. Camille and Jillian were able to play several duets with the Mapleton Chorale. Because she played in the orchestra she didn't get to catch up to Mireya until after. She did get hugs from family and friends. Poor Todd had a rough night because all of his close friends graduated and he still had his senior year to complete. Jillian looked gorgeous. She and I got to pick the dress out at Dillards.

Family at Temple Square

These shots are from the family Temple Square day. The kids had a great time after watching Testaments. They ran and explored the garden and pond area. The adults had fun watching. Most were still recuperating from the flu. It was a wonderful day.

Jill and family 2006

Here are some shots of family and close friends. Jillian got loves from lots of people that day. Some not photographed. Andrea, both sets of her grandparents, Rick and Cristina, Kendra and Isa, Ed and Cathy, and Ofa and Kalisi Palu were there to celebrate. Good times.

Jill and friends 2006

These are a few shots from Jillian's graduation party. More will follow of family. Jillian enjoyed Mireya and Sydney (can't explain the cake knife shot). Mireya and Jillian enjoyed being best friends for most of high school. Mireya's a part of our family. We neglected to take pictures of Devon playing Dena's baby grand piano inside. Todd played, too. Since this photo Devon left for his mission in Korea and Todd for Lancaster, California.

May 2006

These pictures were taken in May of 2006. We had a fun, but busy week and shared it with lots of extended family. Jillian and Levi turned 18 and 16 and Jillian graduated Springville High School. It was a great week. We were able to have a graduation party at Dena and Eric's with lots of family and friends. Dena and Andrea surprised Jillian with a great cake. We had barbeque pork sandwiches and lots of salads. The teenagers played football in the backyard. The Cottonwood trees were in full bloom with cotton flying everywhere. Eric's brother Matt set up an inflatable movie screen for Jillian's friends. The little kids played on the trampoline and enjoyed each others company. It was a great party. Somehow that week the stomach flu was passed around. Some of the family almost didn't make it to graduation. Jillian was one of them. The flu also effected a trip to Temple Square. Poor Debi lost it on the way and we had to stop and borrow clothes at Dena's. It all turned out well. We were able to see Testaments together and walk around temple Square. The kids loved the reflection pond. Cristina and Kendra were due with babies that summer. Kendra was due a month after Cristina, but unfortunately, Kendra's bout with the stomach flu brought Santos 6 weeks early. He was born 2 days after Jillian and Levi's birthdays. It was a trying time for all, especially Kendra and Isa, but neo-natal took excellent care of him and he came home around the time he should have been born. There were lots of prayers said that summer. And we were all thankful for the men in the family that held the priesthood and the blessings that were given. Heavenly Father has blessed us with so much and I am thankful for it. We have a great family that tries to live the gospel and loves their Savior. Life is good.

Welcome the the Ashcraft Family Blog. This is a work in progress and we look forward to adding to it often. The pictures in the first slideshow are from the Fall of 2005. We wanted to do something different and decided to go up the canyon while the leaves were changing. We searched out a few spots and had a little fun at the same time. Scott used his tripod and took all the pictures. The pictures with him in them were done with the timer and him running quickly to get in the picture. Our family has shared a lot of things over the years. Mostly love, laughs, and hard work. We are blessed to have each other. We look forward to putting the past together on these pages and creating more memories as we spend time together.
